If one preferred to use the "normal" Google Chrome, or was otherwise restricted from using the Business/Education edition of Google Chrome in an Active Directory environment, and wanted to use a GPO to configure this setting, one could use Group Policy Preference Shortcut item (likely targeted at the the computer), which could create the shortcut on the "All Users Desktop," with the appropriate arguments. So to frame this as an answer to the original question (how to do this via Group Policy): You need to modify the Chrome shortcut that you use to launch Chrome from. There is a way to do this for a single-computer (non-enterprise) Chrome install. Or, perhaps I should have read your statement as " I have a situation that is different from the original poster's question (in that we have already rolled out Google Chrome, or have not done so in a controlled manner), and because my situation is different - the accepted solution doesn't work. I"m curious to know why "most of us" do not want to the business edition of Chrome - especially if in an environment that is a part of a highly regulated industry. it does not exist for us.I don't understand why "most of us" do not want to be able to centrally manage Chrome via Group Policy? This is not the solution most of us want.
